Stefanie Mutialu, a student at Merritt College, served as the Beta Theta Lambda Chapter Secretary in Fall 2020 and is now serving as Chapter President. She received an Associate in Arts -Transfer in Communication Studies with honors from Merritt College in Fall 2020.
Stefanie plans on transferring to a four-year UC in Fall 2021 with a major in communications and a minor in psychology with hopes of working in social justice advocacy with a focus on women/children crisis support and human trafficking advocacy. Additionally, she received transfer acceptances from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Diego.
As a returning college student, she had had 19 years of telecommunication experience in both technical and administrative areas while serving as a labor representative for Communications Workers of America, a district representative, a women’s committee member, and a United Way volunteer. These positions have given her more than ten years of labor relations and advocacy experience.
She is a former recipient of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Golden Scholarship Award and an All-State Academic Team Awardee for 2021. She also received the Beta Theta Lambda Chapter Advisors’ Award for outstanding leadership and service April 2021. Currently, she is serving on the Regional Alumni Board as a Director-at-Large
